STUDENTS OF THE BISHOPS’ HIGH SCHOOL MAKE THEIR MARK ON THE CXC REGIONAL MERIT LIST FOR CAPE & CSEC 2020

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has provided the Ministry of Education – Guyana, with a list of the candidates who achieved a place on the Regional Merit List for the year 2020. Students of The  Bishops’ High School are among those candidates from Guyana who have been awarded merits at the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examinations (CSEC).

The following students ranked 1st in the Caribbean in the respective  CAPE subjects:

Zharal Hollingsworth – Physics Unit 2
Lemuel Williams – Physics Unit 2
Elisha Davidson – History Unit 2

Nine additional students ranked 3rd to 9th in the Caribbean in the following CAPE subjects:

Zoe Sills – Literatures in English Unit 2 – 2nd
Kailie Ramjohn – Financial Services Unit 1 – 3rd

Chriselle Paul – Law unit 1 – 3rd

Nicholas Ally – Accounting Unit 2 – 4th
Naomi Harte – Law Unit 1 – 4th
Mia Barker – History Unit 2 – 4th
Jaurel Hendricks – Logistics and Chain Supply Operations Unit 2 – 6th
Keyana Hodge – Integrated Mathematics – 9th
Sydney Solomon – Literatures in English – 9th

The following students attained 1st and 7th on the Regional Merit List for Portuguese at the CSEC level.

The Principal, Administration, Board of Governors, PTA and Alumni of The Bishops’ High School take this opportunity to congratulate all the students who have performed exceptionally in their academic pursuits  at the CAPE and CSEC examinations 2020.

Throughout the years subject teachers and stakeholders have contributed their time, resources and professional expertise to students during their time here at The Bishops’ High School, which have ultimately borne fruit.

With the advent of COVID-19, the students were able to bridge the gaps and jump the hurdles that were created and applied themselves meaningfully in  an effort to achieve such excellent performance of which we are all well pleased.

At the 2020 sitting of CAPE, Students of The Bishops’ High School attained an overall pass rate of 97.67% and at CSEC, a matriculation rate of 97.5% for English and Mathematics.

This outstanding performance is possible through the continuous efforts of the teachers, parents and stakeholders who have a vested interest in this prestigious institution.
